A PASSION FOR FASHION
To be fair, it was just there ever since the end of primary school. Back then I was busy looking for trends, mainly because of my older sister. She liked shocking people. I developed my own identity – I liked dressing differently. I’d receive money for clothing and realized fashion is what I love.
LIFE AS A BLOGGER
My life as a blogger is awesome, I wouldn’t wish for anything else. Mainly because I decide on my own hours: I can do what I want, when I want it. Because of my job I go to cool places and meet inspiring people.
STEP SHE TOOK WHEN SHE WENT FULL-TIME
In the beginning I joined a platform with multiple bloggers. That cost me quite some time and I earned some money, but the platform quit and from then on I was on my own. At the time I was nervous, but it all went well. I had a good website built and got great projects – even to the extent that I could live from doing this. That’s when I decided to dedicate all my time and energy in Moderosa, making it my fulltime job.
My week isn’t really all that. I live in Zwolle so my life’s a bit more quiet than it would be for an Amsterdam-based blogger. I have to go to Amsterdam about once a week but other than that I work from home. Responding to incoming emails is what takes up the most time. I think about new campagnes and work hard on creating cool content for my blog and Instagram. I also share a weekly video on YouTube so I’m into video-editing too. Moderosa is a part of my everyday life.
My style is edgy but chique. I like all black but lately I’ve been experimenting with colour too. Pink and red are colours to be found in my wardrobe.
I get the most from Instagram, where I also follow other bloggers and influencers. I’m a big fan of Chiara Ferragni, also because of her style but mainly because of what she achieved as a blogger.
COOLEST GIG THIS FAR
A press trip to Aruba where I saw the entire island with Vestiaire Collective!
JOB SHE WOULD HAVE IF SHE WEREN’T A BLOGGER
I’d be a stylist. If not in fashion, then in interior. That’s what I studied for so it would be a logical consequence.
BEST ADVICE YOU EVER HAD
Can’t really point out one piece of advice, but what I’ve learned from the way I was raised is that honesty gets you furthest.
There’s so many! I hope I can expand, keep growing and have my followers grow with me. I’d love to release a jewellery or shoe line – but that still is a dream…
Go to the world’s most beautiful ends and – clichéd but true – marriage and a family!
